Munu · Memory

An assistant that remembers, in notes you own

Tell Munu something once. It keeps it in a folder of plain text notes on your computer and brings it up when it matters.

Version 1.0.0 for Windows 10 and 11 and macOS 15 or newer. 7 days free, no card.

What it does

Between conversations, Munu carries a short summary of who you are, what matters now, recent decisions and open questions, so you do not start from zero every time.

It saves what you ask it to remember, corrections you make, decisions, open questions and the results of background jobs. It does not save every word you say, and it refuses to write anything that looks like a password or a key.

A quiet background pass tidies new items into summary notes, usually after you have been idle for a couple of minutes. Every change is written to a log file in the same folder, and old claims are struck through, never silently erased.

The folder is named after your assistant. Munu writes only in the blue places. Everything else stays as you left it.

Things to try

  • Munu, remember that my passport expires in March

    Saves it to your notes.

  • Munu, correct that, it expires in May

Strikes through the old line and writes the new one.

  • Munu, what did we decide about the trip?

    Answers from your notes.

  • Munu, start a job that collects my open questions

Runs it in the background and saves the result.

How the memory works

  1. During setup Munu creates a notes folder in Documents. You can pick another folder later.
  2. Talk normally. When you say “remember”, correct something or decide something, it goes into the notes.
  3. Open the folder any time and read or edit the notes. Your edits count.
  4. Back up the folder like any other, or keep it in the sync you already use.

Good to know

  • The notes are on your computer, but to answer a question Munu sends the parts it needs to the AI models through OpenRouter.
  • Background jobs do not get the memory summary. They read your notes only when their task needs them.
  • Deleting Munu’s data folder never deletes your notes folder. That folder is yours.

Questions

Can I see everything Munu remembers?

Yes. It is all in plain Markdown files in your notes folder, and every change is logged in Munu/Log.md.

Does Munu save everything I say?

No. It saves things you ask it to remember, corrections, decisions, open questions and job results. Logs never contain what you said.

What happens to my notes if I uninstall Munu?

Nothing. Uninstalling removes the program. The notes folder stays, and you delete it by hand only if you want it gone.

Say its name. It answers.
